the bleecker company
The Bleecker Company is a non-profit 501c3 company that was originally housed at the famous 45 Bleecker Street Theater. The company evolved from the world premiere production Rumspringa which was produced by 45 Bleecker St Theater and opened Off Broadway in February of 2009 with a critically acclaimed extended run.
In addition to its full productions, The Bleecker Company presents staged readings, playwright symposiums, and workshops of new plays through its New Play Development Series with the goal of fostering more world premieres onto the Off-Broadway stage. The company recently closed a successful Off Broadway run of Hillbilly Women by Elizabeth Stearns directed by Broadway legend, Sondra Lee.
The next full production will be Bleecker Company's first revival, A Runner Stumbles by Milan Stitt at the Arclight Theatre opening in May of 2012 (co-produced with Retro Productions).
